Preserving Ethnic Music for Future Generations

We want to encourage the younger generations to embrace the cultural significance of the Vitak-Elsnic Music Library.  These are songs that will reach beyond a quick computer generated beat and some cliche lyrics and into the heart of the very musician and their lively audience.

Thanks for looking around, and keep playing!

    I am looking for Cieciorki Polka. I was told you could help me. I need a record or a CD as I do not read music. Thanks. Barbara

  2. Good to know that someone else is interested in maintaining a link with ethnic music! Our band, the Alte Kameraden, based in Red Lodge, MT, has been doing just that for over 100 years, in one form or another. We use several of the Vitak-Elsnic books, some of which I bought when I was in college (50¢ per copy! – times have changed) and many other sources of the older music. Thanks for being there!

    Just found this site this morning.

    I have a large number of Vitak-Elsnic arrangements for piano accordion now and was looking for a few more.

    I am sure to purchase the ‘fakebook’ later this month. Do I send a postal money order in US funds for $35.00 when I order??

    Do you intend to make other arrangements available in sheet form?

    I was looking for ‘Huntsman Waltz’ , When I Sleep Polka’, ‘Schneider Polka’. These were listed as #3286, #3340′ and #3579 on the Brown Music site several years ago. I kept a copy of that list.

    I have bookmarked this site and will look in frequently to see what comes available

    Best Wishes for Success with this site;

    George
