Little German Band Book
The Little German Band Book is one of Vitak-Elsnic’s three legacy folios of traditional central European music for bands. The folio was copyrighted in 1934 and has been in continuous sale ever since.
Arranged by noted Czech-American arranger Karel Echtner, the folio contains 21 selections – all with titles in the German language. Echtner was a major musical contributor to Vitak-Elsnic Company music. We carry 59 of his arrangements in our online store, and there are additional Echtner works in our archives.
Some songs in the Little German Band Book you will recognize, but not all. However, all the tunes have a distinctly old-world feel. Six of the 21 songs have been re-arranged and updated and are included in Vitak-Elsnic’s 2022 new folio, German Festival Band Book.
Instrumentation includes: Solo Bb Cornet, 1st Bb Cornet, 1st Bb Clarinet, 2nd Bb Clarinet, Eb clarinet, Eb Alto Saxophone, 1st and 2nd Eb Altos, 1st and 2nd Trombones B.C., 1st & 2nd Trombones T.C., Baritone T.C. or Bb Tenor Saxophone, Euphonium B.C., Tuba, Drums, C Instruments.
