On October 26, 2017, Steve Harris, President of Music Publishers of America and its Vitak-Elsnic Company division, joined invited guests at the Washington, D.C. Embassy of the Czech Republic to celebrate Czech Independence Day. Harris is shown here in discussion with His Excellency Hynek Kmonicek, the Czech ambassador to the United States. During his prepared remarks, Ambassador Kmonicek stressed the importance of music to Czech culture and the Czech people.

Harris and his wife Ann Harris enjoyed the festivities that followed the formal remarks, particularly the traditional Czech cuisine and beverages (beautiful wines and a keg of Pilsner Urquell beer), as well as the exchange of ideas with officials of the Czech and other embassies.
